Tuition Installment Plan (TIPS)

TIPS is an installment payment plan option to pay for your tuition. The earlier you sign up for TIPS, the more options you have. Enrollment is offered for a limited amount of time prior to each semester.

Please note: TIPS is administered by a third-party vendor, Nelnet Business Solutions. Your payment plan contract is with Nelnet Business Solutions to pay your HCC bill.

The first step is to determine the amount you would like to budget through TIPS. You may budget payments in one of two ways:

A. Automatic Bank Payment(ACH) - ACH payments are those payment you have authorized TIPS to process directly with your financial institution. It is a bank-to-bank transfer of funds you have preapproved for your expenses at HCC. Payments can be made from either your checking or savings account. Payments are processed on the date indicated online and will continue until the balance due is paid in full.

B. Credit Card Option - Many students and families have requested the option of charging their monthly tuition payment to VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card. This enables you to take advantage of various bonus programs offered by your credit card company. If you elect to budget your expenses by using your credit card, it will be automatically charged on the date indicated online. The payment amount is specified on the TIPS agreement and will continue until the balance due is paid in full.

Enrolling in TIPS is easy:

Login to your MyHCC Portal and follow the below instructions:

1. Click 'Paying for College'
2. Click 'Make a Payment'
3. Click 'Proceed to Processor'
4. If you have not done so already, you will be prompted to create an account and a 4 digit PIN to continue. Be sure to choose a pin you will easily remember!
5. Once logged in, click the 'Set Up Payment Plan' button

NOTE: The HCC Business Office is normally closed every Saturday and Sunday. If you enroll in TIPS after 2:00pm on Friday, your enrollment may not be received in the Business Office until the following Monday. This may result in cancellation of your classes due to non-payment of fees.

If TIPS attempts to collect the monthly amount and the transaction cannot be processed (ex. due to insufficient funds in your bank account or a change in your credit card expiration date), your contract will be terminated and you will immediately owe the full amount due to HCC.

• It is your responsibility to verify in a timely manner that the monthly amount has successfully been paid from your bank account. If the amount is not taken from your bank account or credit card, contact TIPS immediately.
• You can use your BankMobile Vibe Debit Mastercard to pay TIPS.
• If you receive financial aid after signing up for TIPS, please contact TIPS before canceling your contract. Even though financial aid may be awarded, financial aid is not automatically applied to your HCC account. You will need to continue to pay TIPS according to your contract.
• Please be aware that making a TIPS agreement on Sundays or after 11pm each evening is not advised. HCC’s scheduled systems maintenance during those times may interfere with the proper posting of your agreement, resulting in the de-registration of your classes.
